FHIR for Redox
Building a FHIR interface on top of Redox data exchange system
Our client is a healthcare provider
serving more than 4.5 million members.
They are providing personalized
healthcare recommendations to their
members, as well as doctor matching
services for finding the best in-network
They do this by combining variety of
Health IT technologies and specialized
care teams in a call center ready to
answer phone inquiries.
Seamless integration with wide variety of
different EHRs used by their partner
network is of paramount importance for
providing the quick, precise and
personalized care to their members.
Therefore, our client was looking for an
efficient way to implement a medical
information exchange routes between
multiple, often incompatible EHR
Vicert worked with the client on
implementing a FHIR interface on top of
Redox data exchange system. While Redox
enables our client to collect medical records
from different sources and compile them into
a unified format, FHIR layer on top of it
enables further downstream data exchange
with out-of-network partners.
The goal of the project was to analyze and
transform the limited number of Redox
resources that are most important to the
client. Vicert identified and implemented 20
FHIR resources and 14 custom extensions that
corresponds to Redox Clinical Summary and
Notes data models.
