With a HIPAA compliant, cloud-based web component, our client provided a more affordable imaging and sharing solution to radiologists, with faster diagnostic processes that allowed them to better manage their time with patients
Our client wanted to create an “UBER” for radiologists, that would radically cut the cost of radiology imaging by completely bypassing the need to own an expensive hardware component.
Our task was to design and implement a tool that enabled authenticated radiologists to access, manipulate, and make diagnoses from images created by our client’s beamformer application.
In short, the goal was to provide the full functionality of a radiology imaging device to medical professionals – on a tablet.
The solution that Vicert implemented was a cloud-based web component that allowed remote access to the radiology machine. This web component enabled the Image-as-a-Service feature for radiologists, allowing them to independently work on studies created and shared by sonographers.
Since the client’s sonographer stores raw data generated by the probe, the radiologist can use the tool to change the beamforming parameters and generate new raw image data.
After reviewing the data from the study, the radiologist is able to make a diagnosis, annotate the images, and save the data/comments in the DICOM format on Google Cloud Storage.
The solution is compatible and optimized for both Android and iOS devices.
It is HIPAA compliant, with the potential to be integrated with EHRs.
Our client is able to provide a more affordable solution for medical imaging and sharing to their customers (radiologists).
This solution speeds up the diagnostic process, and allows radiologists to better manage their time with patients.
